Connecting with people who truly understand the local area often leads to better choices. But we realized that some of the most useful insights aren't easy to find through search engines or general portals. So, we started organizing places like restaurants, salons, places of worship, and community hubs— one by one—mapping them out to help people discover and connect more easily within their neighborhood.
Because this kind of information was hard to find through a simple search, we began by listing places run by Korean locals—like restaurants, salons, churches, and community spaces—one by one.

Essential everyday information—
For example, finding out which realtor is trustworthy, which salon does a great job, or which restaurant serves the best food often meant digging through KakaoTalk group chats or Naver Cafés— and sometimes, even asking felt a bit awkward.
First-hand experiences and genuine reviews were what truly mattered, but the structure of existing community platforms often made it hard to find or share them freely— leaving many of us feeling stuck and frustrated.

캐나다에 처음 이민을 오고 나서, 저 역시 다른 많은 분들처럼 낯선 환경 속에서 어려움을 겪었습니다. 운 좋게도 주변에 도와주시는 분들이 계셨지만, 예상치 못한 상황이나 일상 속에서 생기는 문제들은 결국 스스로 해결해야 하는 경우가 많았습니다.
그럴 때마다 가장 의지했던 건 카카오톡 지역 커뮤니티 채팅방이었습니다. 필요한 정보를 구하거나, 경험자의 조언을 얻기 위해 질문을 남기곤 했죠. 하지만 채팅방이라는 특성상 너무 많은 질문이 동시에 올라오면, 중요한 정보도 금세 묻혀버리고, 누군가는 반드시 답을 해줘야 한다는 묵직한 ‘의무감’도 함께 생기게 됩니다.
“지역별로 나뉘어 있는 커뮤니티를 하나로 통합할 수는 없을까?”
“내 주변에 한국인은 얼마나 있을까?”
“한국 음식이 먹고 싶을 땐, 어디로 가야 하지?”
이런 질문이 쌓이면서, 단순한 채팅방이 아닌 더 구조적이고, 더 지속 가능한 소통 공간이 필요하다고 느꼈고, 그래서 만들게 된 것이 바로 이 플랫폼 Revué입니다.
음식점, 병원, 리얼터, 학원, 교회, 심지어는 손재주 좋은 헤어디자이너까지. 우리가 경험으로 알게 된 믿을 수 있는 곳들을 포스팅으로 남길 수 있습니다.
사용자는 원하는 키워드를 입력해 관련된 장소를 찾을 수 있고, 특정 카테고리나 도시를 선택하여 결과를 좁힐 수 있습니다.

처음 기획 단계에서는 캐나다에 거주하는 한국인 커뮤니티를 중심으로 시작되었습니다. 캐나다뿐만 아니라 전 세계 모든 해외에 거주하는 동포들을 위한 커뮤니티로 발전시키고 싶습니다.
그리고 이제 App을 만들어보려 합니다... 여전히 부족한 부분이 많이 있지만 이 플랫폼이 소통의 장으로서의 역할을 다 해주길 바랄 뿐입니다. 감사합니다.
